Discover Gokyo Resort, an epitome of luxury located in Nepal's breathtaking Gokyo Valley—an beautiful himalayan retreat where incredible comfort greets.
The Gokyo Valley was a yak herder's second home. They spent months here, herding their yaks around the terrain. The Gokyo grassland was their oasis, with more nutritious herbs for their yaks. It was their home away from home, and they still return to it once a year to reconnect with their heritage.
The successful ascent of Mount Everest in 1953 marked the beginning of tourism in the Everest region. In 1991, Mr. and Mrs. Sharma opened a tea house in Gokyo, and soon after, they set a world record by ballooning over Mount Everest. This event helped to raise the profile of Gokyo and the Gokyo trail, and soon trekkers from all over the world began to flock to the region.
Started in 1991 Gokyo resort was the first to ever serve trekkers wether it be with a tea shop or a proper hotel. Gokyo resort is also the first off the record bakery at the highest altitude of 4800m. After the catastrophic earthquake in 2015, we found the danger and laking of old stone houses that catered 100s of trekkers during peak season and decided to build a well structured house with steels and insulated walls that are lighter and safer to natural disaster .
Nestled in the awe-inspiring Gokyo Valley of Nepal, Gokyo Resort invites you to uncover a world of unparalleled luxury and enchantment. From the moment you arrive, you'll be captivated by the pristine alpine surroundings, offering a picturesque backdrop for an extraordinary escape.
