Discover Gokyo Resort, the epitome of luxury nestled in Nepal's breathtaking Gokyo Valley—an idyllic alpine getaway where unparalleled indulgence awaits.
The resort is a step above the rest from our experience, lovely lake vie rooms with hot showers, electricity in the rooms and electric blankets, for a price. The fresh made cakes and real coffee machine are a tasty change to other lodgest in the area. And the staff are great, friendly, helpful, polite and wanting to help in any way they can
Gokyo Resort was the highest lodge we stayed on our trek to Gokyo Ri, but it surprisingly had the best food - especially in their bakery. We had a room that faced the lake, which also got a lot of sunlight. It was real warm during the day and some of that warmth carried over into the the night as well. Otherwise, like most lodges at 15,500ft, the lodge was cold. They do turn on the stove in the dining room around 5pm and it is a great place to socialize. Your food can take some time before you get served, but if you put in your order ahead of time, they do a pretty good job of getting it to you in a timely manner. The staff is helpful in general. If in Gokyo, I would highly recommend Gokyo Resort!
Awesome place to stay in Gokyo
This was cleanest and nicest place we have stayed in all of Nepal. Comfy beds, clean toilets and great food. Bakery which adjoins the hotel has delicious food. We loved the chocolate donuts, apple pie and best coffee in town. Highly recommend. Great view over Gokyo Lake and easy walk to glacier.
As a place to stay, this lodge is pretty much like the rest of the lodges in the Khumbu region -- that is, cold at night. However, the good point is that the cook who works here is really good -- the best one we have encountered in our 2 treks in the area. He makes a real omelette when ordered, not the things that pass for omelettes in other places. And he makes "Kaiser Schmann" (should be "Kaiserschmarrn"), a traditional Austrian dessert served in hiking lodges. This is a delicious thing to eat at the end of the world! I'll try to attach a photo.
We stayed at some great lodges on our Jiri-Gokyo trip. This one stands out because although it has been going since 1991, the owners (and their very charming son, returned from uni in India) still greet you with such warmth and enthusiasm. Their chef is AMAZING considering the limitations of cooking in this environment. Although the main bakery was closed in December the most delicious little cakes would appear on the counter each afternoon. We didn't have a bad meal there but the pizza and the vegetable paratha were outstanding!
